1. What is the Solidaires Informatique union section?
A union section is a group of employees from the same company who come together to defend their common interests through the same union.
We are affiliated with Solidaires Informatique, a national union that brings together workers in the digital, consulting, and video game sectors. It is itself a member of the Solidaires Union Federation.
Other companies such as OVH, Back Market, SNCF Connect & Tech, Red Hat, and Ubisoft also have a Solidaires Informatique union section.
2. Why create a union section in our company?
Although we work in a company where it is generally good to work, it is important to establish a countervailing power to balance the relations between employees and management, to not lose what has been achieved, improve what can be, and to conduct collective legal monitoring to follow the evolution of our rights.
Thus, this union section allows us to give a collective voice to employees, better defend our rights, improve our working conditions, and make our demands heard by management. By coming together, we can also share experiences, train on our rights, and benefit from mutual support.
3. Why Solidaires Informatique?
With more than a decade of experience in social movements, Solidaires Informatique stands out from other unions by:
- Its knowledge of the professions in the digital sector and the specifics of our collective agreement
Syntec(which applies to all employees of the company), - Its values of solidarity, social justice, and respect for workers’ rights (see the demands of
Solidaires Informatiqueand those of theSolidaires Union Federationof which it is a member), - Its concrete support for members, both legally and humanly.
4. I am not an IT professional, am I concerned by Solidaires Informatique?
Yes! Solidaires Informatique is a union for all employees in our company. It is therefore not only for digital professions but for all professions in digital companies, across all sectors (administrative, commerce, customer relations, etc.).
5. I don’t like politics, am I concerned by all this?
Of course! Everything that happens in your company necessarily concerns you. Whether you like politics or not, no one wants to see their rights violated. That is why it is important to defend them together.
6. How can the union section help me?
We can do this in several ways:
- By providing you with information about your rights,
- By offering you legal or human support when needed,
- By giving you the opportunity to participate in collective actions to improve working conditions,
- By allowing you to be assisted by a member of the section during a
disciplinary interview.
For any question or to report an abuse, contact us. The exchanges remain confidential without explicit agreement.
7. What are the differences between the union section and the CSE?
The CSE (Social and Economic Committee) and the union section have distinct roles within the company.
The CSE has a consultative role and represents the employees. It includes the employer and a delegation of staff who are elected by the employees and whose mission is to inform them and consult with management on social and economic issues.
The union section, on the other hand, is a group of employees who come together to defend their common interests. It can take specific actions, negotiate with management, and organize awareness campaigns.
While part of the CSE is elected by the employees every 4 years, the union section is open to all employees who wish to join.
8. What actions can the union section take?
Several tools are at our disposal to make ourselves heard:
- Request for negotiation with management,
- Communication to employees:
- Posting on the union notice board,
- Publication on our website,
- Leafleting campaign,
- Petition,
- Filing a strike notice.
9. How much does it cost?
Nothing! You can benefit from our actions and assistance without any cost.
We are not paid by the company or by Solidaires Informatique, and the actions are carried out in our free time. Only the RSS (Representative of the Union Section) benefits from 4 hours of union delegation per month during working hours.
It is only if you wish to join the section (and therefore join Solidaires Informatique) that a membership fee would be required.
